Matthew A. Everett

    Playwright

Matthew A. Everett is the recipient of a Drama-Logue Award for Outstanding Writing for the Theater (Heaven and Home), and a three-time recipient of support from the Minnesota State Arts Board.  Most recently, two of his short plays - The Bronze Bitch Flies At Noon and Dog Tag (written with Anne Bertram) - were presented as part of the 2008 Minnesota Fringe Festival.  Sample scenes, monologues, and further information on Matthew and his work can be found online at www.matthewaeverett.com.  Scripts are available for purchase at stores.lulu.com/matthewaeverett

Siobhan Bremer

Siobhan Bremer received her Master of Fine Arts from Minnesota State University at Mankato and has both acted and directed at the professional level. She started her theatre career at age four playing a munchkin in The Wizard of Oz and has gone on to direct or act in over 50 productions. Currently she is assistant professor of theatre at the University of Minnesota, Morris. Her university productions have included children’s theatre, classical works and contemporary drama. She is excited to be back on the stage in this original production of Leave.

Alex Carlson

Alex Carlson has a B.A. in Theatre and Economics with Honors from the University of Minnesota, Morris.  His past productions include playing The Cat in the Hat in Seussical, Frankie in A Lie of the Mind, Truffaldino in A Servant of Two Masters and Barnette Lloyd in Crimes of the Heart.  He has been nominated for the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship four times. He also was a member of the Unusual Suspects Improv Troupe for four years.  Currently, he is a radio personality for KMRS/KKOK radio in Morris.

Nick James Parker

Nick James Parker hails from Louisville, KY.  He is a senior at the University of Minnesota, Morris and will be graduating this fall with  majors in English and Theatre.  His recent work at UMM includes: The Shape of Things, Improv Troupe, Dark Castle, Wind in the Willows, Stop Kiss, The Merchant of Venice,  and The Durang One Acts.  Professional theatre work at Brownville Theatre in Brownville, NE includes: Caught in the Net, Never Too Late, and 84 Charring Cross Road.  His future plans are comedy studies at Second City next semester.

Tim Schmidt

    Nicholas

Tim Schmidt is a sophomore attending the University of Minnesota: Morris, pursuing studies in English, Philosophy, and Art History, and may have been seen at the 2005 State One Act festival at St. Catherine’s O’Shaughnessy Auditorium playing the titular role in Bernard Pomerance's THE ELEPHANT MAN.  He was honored in 2006 by the state of Minnesota in being named as a Scholar of Distinction in Theater Arts.

Bennett Smith

Bennett Smith is a senior this academic year at the University of Minnesota Morris. He will graduate this May with a degree in Political Science. Actively participating in politics and the community takes up most of his time, but he also finds plenty of opportunities at UMM to share his love for the arts. Bennett starred as Horton in last semester’s production of Seussical. He hopes to find himself in other roles on the UMM stage this season. Bennett also enjoys taking part in the University Concert Choir and writing in his spare time.

David Schilmoeller

David Schilmoeller “Schwami” is a 21 year old sophmore at the University of Minnesota, Morris and is working on majors in English and History.  His exceptional organizational skills and lack of acting talent make him ideal in his behind-the-scenes role on this production.

Justin S. Latt

Justin was most recently seen on stage as Mike in UMM's A Lie of the Mind and directing for Meiningens' Play in a Day.  His set and lighting design credits include The Flower Shop Project's Preferred by Discreet Women Everywhere and The Calumet Players’ I Do! I Do!  He has provided publicity design for FSP’s PDWE, Attack of Atomic Trash Monster’s Bride, Auld Acquaintance, Ladies A.I.D., Dawn’s Inferno, Drowning in Velvet, and Dealbreaker and Mad Munchkin Production’s FreaksOut!  Justin is the founder of afterdark theatre company.  He will finally receive his B.A. in Theatre later this fall from the University of Minnesota, Morris.

Scott Bloom

My name is Scott Bloom and I’m a senior at UMM.  Leave is the most recent in a long string of theatrical productions.  Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Wind in the Willows, and You Can’t Take it with You are some my favorite productions.  When Justin asked me to design and build this show, I was quite excited to work on it.  This show has been stimulating to say the very least.  I’m glad I got the opportunity to work on this with friends.  Enjoy the show as much as I did.

Marco Arturo Avila Macias

    Costume Designer

Marco was born in Cd. Juarez, Chih, Mexico.  During elementary school, he began to be in dance shows for different holy days and events.  He is currently still active and working in dance shows such as Dance Ensemble at UMM as dancer and tech crew. After moving to El Paso, TX, he began to study and do theatre senior year of High School, where he worked in the tech crew for the one act plays and as an actor for the spring comedy play The Emperor’s Nightingale  He also played a lead role in the musical The Boyfriend. In 2006 he began studies at the University of Minnesota, Morris, where he studies for a B.A. in Theatre Arts. He has worked on most of the shows at the scene and costume shops since he arrived. Currently he is doing a costume design project for the fall show at UMM, and working as a graphic designer for the Student Activities Department.

Alex Clark

    Lighting Designer

This is Alex's sixth and final year at UMM as he finishes up degrees in History, International Relations, Social Science, and Theatre. Theatre, though, is his real passion, with a specific love for lighting design. This is his 12th design at UMM, and he has also worked off campus at The Barn, Minneapolis Musical Theatre, and St. Croix Valley Summer Theatre. At all he has gained a well-deserved reputation as being crazy.
